From first message to investment

How it works.

A private, personal process from first message to investment. We make the introduction, and you deal directly with the provider from there.

How the moneymoves

Whatever the investment, the path is broadly the same. Your capital goes to the provider, and returns come back from what the underlying produces.

  1. 1InvestorsInvestors commit capital through a note, loan or agreement with the provider.
  2. 2ProviderA law firm, lender or issuer puts the capital to work under the agreed terms.
  3. 3The underlyingClaims are pursued, loans are serviced, or the strategy runs its course.
  4. 4ResolutionClaims settle, loans are repaid, or the investment reaches its term.
  5. 5RepaymentInvestors are repaid principal and returns under the terms of the documentation.

Questionsinvestors ask

Can’t see your question? Ask us directly.

Where does my money go?

Directly to the provider, under its own documentation. It never passes through Moyderwell, and we will never ask you to send money to us.

How is Moyderwell paid?

By the provider, under our introduction terms with them.

Who runs the investments?

The provider does. For litigation finance, that is a law firm regulated by its professional body, such as the Solicitors Regulation Authority in England and Wales.

Do you give advice?

No. We introduce opportunities and explain how they work, but we don’t give investment, legal or tax advice. We recommend you review the documentation with your own advisers.

Who can invest?

Qualified investors resident outside the United Kingdom, such as family offices, high-net-worth and sophisticated investors. Every investor completes identity and source-of-funds checks.

Can UK residents invest?

No. The opportunities we introduce are only available to investors resident outside the United Kingdom.

What documents will I need?

Valid government-issued photo ID, proof of address dated within the last three months, and evidence of your source of wealth and source of funds.

How long does it take?

We reply to every enquiry within two business days. After that, timing mainly depends on verification and on how long you and your advisers want to review the documentation.

How are returns taxed?

That depends on where you live and your circumstances. You are responsible for your own tax, and we recommend taking independent advice.
